I wanted to be a cowgirl when I grew up but ended up an artist instead, and now cowboys ride through my paintings, picking flowers and stopping to swim in every creek they pass. I am a contemporary visual artist and illustrator based in Joshua Tree, California, where the windows of my art studio look out into the Mojave Desert.
Dear Readers,
For those who have may not heard, the most beautiful soul left this Earth this past August. Penny was a friend, a sister, a daughter, a beloved wife and Mimi… but to me she was my mother, my best friend, and the light of my world. It seems darker without her here, but I know the sun shines brighter now that she is in God’s arms.
Prior to her passing, my mother had delegated most of Portfolio’s tasks to me, with the goal of fully transitioning me as the new editor and creative director. I plan to continue my mother’s legacy and know she will be with me in spirit every step of the way. Thank you for your continued love and support.
